Lorenzo Pallara, Avalpa co-founder, and Andreas Berger of the Wien Research Center FTW will present an Open Source software framework used to generate MPEG-2 Transport Streams for transmission of digital TV programs. Due to the framework's modular architecture and its support for a broad variety of recent digital broadcast standards (such as DVB-H), it can be employed for many different prototype implementations and testbed setups in the context of Multimedia research.

today 3.7.2008, Avalpa releasesĀ Jet, the phoneme based free (as freedom) middleware for enhanced digital television set top box.
Jet actually is still rough but it's already a fully functional design, so it runs only on DgStation CubeCafe 350 Prime (we tested with both the satellite or terrestrial tuner).
